Dit vereist nieuwe benaderingen van de waardeketen, waarbij elke speler een rol heeft om de ecologische voetafdruk te verminderen. Een belangrijke drijfveer voor verandering in de bouwsector is het EU-principe voor bouw- en renovatie richting 2030 en 2050 (klimaatneutraal). Dit beleid richt zich op energie-effici\u00ebntie, betaalbaarheid, decarbonisatie en integratie van hernieuwbare energie, life-cycle analyses en circulariteit, de groene en digitale transitie, hoge gezondheids- en milieunormen, en respect voor esthetiek en architectonische kwaliteit. AD Chemicals is een voorloper in de markt met chemische voorbehandelingen die bedrijven in staat stellen hun CO\u2082-voetafdruk te verkleinen. Belangrijke onderdelen van deze strategie zijn energiebesparing, waterbesparing, vermindering van chemisch verbruik en onderhoudskosten, terwijl de hoogste kwaliteit op het gebied van lakhechting en corrosiebescherming behouden blijft.<\/p>\n<p>Om de voetafdruk van het productieproces te verkleinen, heeft AD de krachten gebundeld met Corialis Group, een belangrijke speler in de aluminiumindustrie. Samen hebben ze een grondige analyse gemaakt van het chemische voorbehandelingsproces van de verticale poedercoatlijnen op twee productielocaties (ALIPLAST BELGIUM N.V.\/S.A, Belgi\u00eb en LINGOTE ALUMINIOS S.A, Portugal). De productielocatie in Belgi\u00eb is Qualicoat Seaside gecertificeerd en de locatie in Portugal is Qualimarine-gecertificeerd. Deze casestudy toont aan dat wanneer leverancier en fabrikant hun samenwerking intensiveren, oplossingen gerealiseerd worden die de ecologische voetafdruk aanzienlijk verkleinen. Hiermee worden belangrijke stappen gezet om het productieproces toekomstbestendig te maken.<\/p>\n<p>Het project past binnen de duurzaamheidsstrategie van Corialis. Duurzaamheid staat centraal in het bedrijfsmodel van Corialis, wat terug te zien is in het productaanbod, evenals in inkoop- en productieprocessen. De strategie van Corialis richt zich op de volgende focusgebieden: recycleerbaarheid, lange levensduur, duurzaamheid en goed bestuur. Hiermee is Corialis goed gepositioneerd om te voldoen aan de nieuwe EU-normen voor bouw- en renovatie.<\/p>\n<h5>Analyse en vergelijking<\/h5>\n<p>Uit de procesanalyse komen verschillende aandachtsgebieden waar de voetafdruk aanzienlijk kan worden verkleind in vergelijking met vergelijkbare bedrijven in de sector. De gepresenteerde cijfers zijn gebaseerd op daadwerkelijke prestaties binnen de Corialis fabrieken in vergelijking met andere bedrijven met een traditioneel proces. Of deze procesbaden nu op gas of elektriciteit werken, ze verbruiken veel energie. Nieuwe chemische technologie\u00ebn maken het mogelijk om de temperatuur van deze procesbaden aanzienlijk te verlagen tot 30-35\u00b0C. Bij gebruik van deze lagere temperaturen kan een energiebesparing tot circa 66.7% worden gerealiseerd.<\/p>\n<h5>(Afval)waterbesparing<\/h5>\n<p>Door een combinatie van vervuiling en overconsumptie worden droogte en waterschaarste in Europa niet langer als zeldzaam of extreem beschouwd. Ongeveer 20% van het Europese land en 30% van de bevolking wordt jaarlijks getroffen door waterschaarste. Het is te verwachten dat waterschaarste de komende jaren een nog grotere uitdaging zal vormen naarmate het klimaat verandert. Regio&#8217;s door heel Europa zien een toename in de frequentie van droogte. Met name zuidelijke Europese gebieden zullen naar verwachting de komende tien jaar meer watertekorten ervaren, met mogelijk desastreuze gevolgen voor de industrie (Bron: EIT Food, 2023). Dit onderstreept het vitale belang van waterbesparing.<\/p>\n<p>In traditionele voorbehandelingslijnen veroorzaken de reinigings- en beitszones vaak negatieve effecten, zoals doorsleep van chemie naar volgende processtappen en slibvorming in de baden. Dit leidt tot onnodig veel afvalwater. Het chemisch proces van AD heeft een geoptimaliseerd beitsproces dat de (afval)waterstroom aanzienlijk vermindert. Bij de Aliplast-lijn in Belgi\u00eb, die Qualicoat Seaside-gecertificeerd is, zijn de reinigings- en beitsstappen beide zuur van aard, waardoor de negatieve effecten van doorsleep worden beperkt. Bovendien is de gehele (afval)waterstroom effici\u00ebnter ingericht, wat leidt tot extra besparingen op afvalwater en vers water. In Portugal is het beitsproces geoptimaliseerd conform de Qualimarine-standaard.<\/p>\n<p>De uitdaging is om de juiste balans te vinden tussen voldoende waterverversing en minimaal waterverbruik. Een belangrijk element in dit &#8220;duurzame watersysteem&#8221; is de recirculatie van waterstromen in het proces, een uniek kenmerk van het AD Chemicals-proces. Een bijkomend voordeel is dat dit proces ook het chemisch verbruik vermindert en energiebesparingen en onderhoudsbesparingen mogelijk maakt.<\/p>\n<p>Hoeveel water kan er worden bespaard? Als benchmark kan een cascade-lijn met een output van 11.000 m\u00b2 aluminium per dag overschakelen van een waterverbruik van gemiddeld 4.000-5.000 liter per uur naar 500-900 liter per uur. Dit resulteert in een vermindering van 87% in waterverbruik. Dit verkleint de ecologische voetafdruk en draagt bij aan waterbeschikbaarheid in droge gebieden.<\/p>\n<h5>Kwaliteit<\/h5>\n<p>De optimalisaties tonen belangrijke stappen in het verduurzamen van het \u00a0voorbehandelingsproces voor verticale poedercoatlijnen. Het chemische voorbehandelingsproces is bewezen stabiel door jarenlange werkervaring. Het verbeterde reinigings- en beitsproces, gevolgd door een chroomvrije conversielaag, resulteert in een aluminiumoppervlak dat klaar is om te coaten, met uitstekende lakhechting en corrosiewerende eigenschappen. Deze eigenschappen overtreffen de normen van Qualicoat, GSB en Qualimarine. Een van de thema&#8217;s is de mogelijkheid om chemicali\u00ebn te recyclen. Dit toont de drive van beide bedrijven om te innoveren en benadrukt dat wanneer bedrijven streven naar voortdurende verbetering, duurzaamheid haalbaar wordt.<\/p>\n<p>Door de voetafdruk van de verticale voorbehandelingslijn te verkleinen, dragen AD en Corialis bij aan een duurzamere bouwwaardeketen die voldoet aan de steeds strengere CO\u2082-eisen.
