Oxidation is the enemy of aluminum strip and profiles; it is in itself a form of corrosion that occurs during storage and is unacceptable for critical applications in automotive, aviation, white goods, construction and in other industries.

Passivation treatments, that are applied in-line, form a barrier to corrosion and form a suitable layer for post painting operations. Passivation products are both economic and effective in use. PreCoat A32 is a trivalent chromium based passivation for aluminium. It creates a clear thin conversion layer on the aluminium substrate. Switching this hexavalent chromium free system is possible without major line modifications.
